Artemis requires a mod to be installed into The Witcher 3 in order to work.

This mod can automatically be installed from the application, but if it runs into any issues it must be done manually.

Manual mod installation

If you happen to have any conflicting mods, an automatic installation cannot be done.

Note: If you don't have any mods, but you're still getting this message, look for a mods folder in your Witcher 3 game directory and delete it, and try again.

If you wish to keep your existing mods, please follow the instructions below. Alternatively you can remove the mods Artemis reported.

  1. Locate the mod at C:\ProgramData\Artemis if it's not there, try an automated install first. Artemis places the mod here if the automatic install failed. (You can open this folder by pressing WIN+R and pasting %ProgramData%\Artemis into the run window.)
  2. Copy the contents of the folder to your Witcher 3 installation (the bin and the mods folder should be in the Witcher 3 root directory)
  3. Download Script Merger from NexusMods.
  4. Follow the instructions on the Script Merger page to resolve the conflicts.

Mod removal

If you wish to get rid of the mod, please follow these instructions

  1. Head over to your Witcher 3 installation
  2. From here, browse to bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc and delete artemis.xml
  3. Go back to your Witcher 3 installation
  4. Browse to the mods folder and delete the modArtemis folder (or the entire mod folder if you want everything gone).
