That is probably due to an error selecting keyboards. We are aware of this issue and are working to fix it.

Besides that you might be missing [Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 64 bit](https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679), it's required for some API's we use.

### What does the Generic device type do?
Generic devices are devices over which Artemis only has limited control. This includes most Logitech RGB gear because their SDK is very limited. You can create a generic layer and Artemis will colour all the generic devices according to that one layer.
